But at the same time, he noted the clear preference inherent in what the Cat was telling him about the options too. And that made him wonder. Did the Cat just not correct him before? It was hard to say right now with so little to go off of though, so he merely kept that as something to consider later.

And with how much he was missing? That he had no memories of Edwin didn't stand out overmuch yet. He had no idea how much of that sense of void was from missing one particular person in particular rather than everything else. It would become all the more apparent as memories filtered back in, but... that was surely a problem for future Cat King.
